 worth   a. n. 가치, 값어치    v. ~의 가치가 있다

 

<형용사인데...전치사처럼 목적어를 취한다.

즉 명사, 대명사, 수사가 뒤에 오거나, 동명사 형태가 온다>

 

This book is worth reading again.

  = It is enjoyable, informative, or valuable enough to be

   read more than once.

 

Our house is worth about five billion won.

 = It has an estimated value of five billion won.

 

How much is this painting worth?

 

Whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well.

 (= This proverb means that if a task or activity is worth

   doing, it should be done properly and with care.)

 이 책은 다시 읽을 가치가 있다.

비교급의 강조= far, much, even, still, a lot + way («암기)

 (= It suggests that studying hard during the teenage years is

 beneficial and rewarding in the long run.)

(= Attending the party will be enjoyable and worthwhile,
